Choosing your class:
The Math Club will be offering classes as described in the following.
It is important to list three of your top choices for times for attending
when you complete your registration form.
Each class is one hour and fifteen minutes in duration. The 100, 200
and 300 class numbers refer to the first, second and third class of the
day. The last digit 2, 3,4 and 5 refers to the day of the week starting with
Tuesday.
The E-Division class is intended for preparation for the Elementary
Division of the Math Olympiad Contest. We cover five sample problems during
each class meeting. This class is intended for the third, fourth and fifth
grader.
The E&M-Division class is intended for preparation for the
Middle School Division of the Math Olympiad Contest. We cover five sample
problems at the E-Division level and five sample problems at the M-Division
level during each class meeting. This class is intended for the sixth, seventh
and eighth grader.
For the price of the sessions, all third through sixth grade students
are registered into the E-Division and the M-Division Math Olympiad Contest.
The seventh and eight graders are registered into the M-Division Math Olympiad
Contest.
Important Note:
The class time for preparation for the first contest can be affected by
the upcoming holidays. This year we will be not meeting during the Thanksgiving
week. However, if a class time falls on a holiday Monday or Friday, please
adjust your attendance to another class time during that week. If necessary,
a make-up class would be given on a weekend near the holiday to make-up
the class time. There doesn't seem to be a perfect solution to also have
adequate preparation time for the contests. So, when choosing your class
day, please be aware of the alternate meeting time for when a class falls
on a holiday. All members will be notified by email and general announcements
during the class time.
Please Note:
If you miss a class time for any reason, please attend another class time
to make-up the class time!
